Once home to W.H. Pope, Ardgowan is the only existing home of a Father of Confederation within the City. In fact, Pope not only hosted delegate George Brown here during the Charlottetown Conference, but held a luncheon for all of the delegates that included lobster and champagne!

The circa 1850 former private home is now the offices of Parks Canada.

Ardgowan was designated a National Historic Site 26 October 1966.
