The old Central Academy Building accommodated Prince of Wales College since its inception, however the building was tired and drafty. A new building for the growing College was constructed in 1900 at a cost of 36 000. Architects, Phillips and Chappell designed the lovely Romanesque Revival structure that would serve PWC well until it was destroyed by fire in 1932.
