The exhibit Picturing a City: The Horse of Course ran in June and July 2019. The display was an exploration of the history of the horse’s role in Charlottetown. Because this year marks 100 years since the automobile ban was lifted, it is an ideal time to put a spotlight on the horse, whose role in our ancestors’ daily lives was so vital.
The City of Charlottetown would like to thank all of those who contributed to make this exhibit a success including historian, John Cousins and author, Paul Murphy for sharing their knowledge and expertise on the subject. We are also grateful to our friends at the PEI Museum and Heritage Foundation who shared items from the Provincial Collection.
