One of the joys in life is sitting under a tree on a lazy summer afternoon. The young woman and her kitten are pictured enjoying their day on the lawn of Farringford, or what is now known as the Haviland Club. The house was built in the 1880s and began as a private dwelling, but was then used for a time by the United States Consul. It is thought that the young woman in the picture is his daughter.
